According to a recent interview with a representative from Internet Co. Ltd., they are now planning an English bank for GUMI after the success of the voicebanks Megpoid Extend and Megpoid Native. Megumi Nakajima has also confirmed on her Twitter account that she and Internet Co. Ltd. have been in contact and were supposed to start recording the voicebank soon. Her tweet said, “I am very excited for the new Megpoid English voicebank! I would like to thank Internet Co. Ltd. for this chance they’ve given me. We are currently in negotiations but we will start recording[the voicebank] soon.” Yamaha has also shown interest, even going as far to say that “Megpoid English shall be a groundbreaking release.” The release was supposed to be scheduled on Summer 2013 but were pushed back due to Internet Co. Ltd. deciding to first finish Gakupo, Lily, and Gachapoid’s Vocaloid 3 Updates. “We are very surprised on how popular GUMI has gotten and we are very thankful to her fans,”, said an Internet Co. Ltd. representative, “We are releasing an English voicebank soon in hopes that more people will be able to use her.” On being asked if they plan on releasing English voicebanks for their other Vocaloids, a representative replied,”As of now we have no plans on releasing English voicebanks for our other products. However, if their Vocaloid 3 Updates deem to be popular, we will consider it.”

While the Rin and Len were under development, Crypton had several concepts in mind. One of the announced concepts were that they were to be mirror images, or twins, but another concept was revealed. According to Crypton, Crypton had the idea of having them as married teenagers rather than twins to astray from incestuous ideas concocted by the users. Incest has been considered as taboo in many countries and Crypton did not want to be one of the sources for this and avoid misconceptions. “It would be appealing to the users,” said one Crypton representative. “Although it may seem too quick for fourteen year-olds, it shows innocence and dreamy puppy-love that kids at their age dream of, and one of them is marriage.”
